Please have the MC or DJ introduce the wedding party as you come into the reception area.
Leave blank to leave this decision up to to the DJ (appropriate music will be played accordingly).
Your DJ will require a meal, is this acceptable or should they order food in?
Please have the MC or DJ introduce the cutting of the cake.
After you “cut” the cake what do you want to happen? Will the facility, bridesmaids, volunteers take over? Will you both serve it to your guests or will it be placed out buffet style?
Speeches and Toasts
Please enter the name of the person giving the speech or leave blank if no one is giving one.
“Open mic” is the classic way to let guests tell a story or give a toast, and it’s a cute way to let kids put their 2 cents worth in. However, keep them moving quickly. We tell people when it’s “open mic” please come and stand just behind us so we can introduce them. We always stay within range of the microphone as to adjust height, prompt them to “speak into the mic” so everyone can hear them. And of course…strategically cutoff undesirable speakers. Every MC should have filler at this time between nervous guests speaking so as to avoid any blank moments at the podium.
Opening Waltz
The Bride and Groom typically dance first.
Any selection of parents and Bride and/or Groom
Bridal party/ parents/ guests half way through.
All male guests surround the Bride and take turns dancing with her. (song usually played: I Knew the Bride when She Used to Rock and Roll ~ Nick Lowe)
All women surround the Groom and usually attempt to take off his clothes; we do not encourage this and have alternate methods if a Groom has concerns about this. (Macho Man ~ Village People, I'm Too Sexy ~ Right Said Fred, Male Stripper ~ Man 2 Man)
Song played when the Bride and Groom leave.
Are the Bride and Groom staying till the end of the reception?
